These conditions explain how you may use RaktMitra.org, a blood donor network run by Parrikar Petro Services as a non-profit initiative. Please read them before you register or search. When you create a profile, sign in, or use any part of the website, you accept these conditions. If you do not accept them, please do not use RaktMitra.org.
Part A – The service
A1. What RaktMitra.org offers
RaktMitra.org is a free community directory. Volunteers list themselves as blood donors, and people searching on behalf of a patient can find and contact them. Our role ends at making that introduction possible. Parrikar Petro Services does not earn any income from this website and does not charge donors, patients or families.
A2. What RaktMitra.org is not
We are a contact directory only. We do not run a blood bank, hospital, clinic, pathology lab or ambulance service. Blood is never handled, sold or delivered through us, and nothing on this website is medical advice. Any donation must be made at a licensed blood centre, whose doctors decide whether a donor is fit and whether blood is compatible.
A3. Availability of the service
We try to keep the website running smoothly, but we cannot promise that it will always be online, error-free or up to date. We may pause, change or close the service, fully or partly, for maintenance or any other reason, with or without notice.
Part B – Your account
B1. Who may use the website
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- You must sign in with a mobile number that belongs to you and confirm it with the one-time password we send.
- One person, one profile. Registering a friend or relative, even with their permission, is not allowed – they should register themselves.
B2. Keeping your profile honest
Donors confirm that their name, blood group, area and contact numbers are correct. If something changes – including whether you are currently able to donate – please update your profile or switch your availability off. Profiles that appear false or abandoned may be paused or removed.
B3. Looking after your sign-in
Anyone holding your phone can sign in as you. Keep your device secure and sign out on shared devices. Actions taken from your signed-in account are treated as yours.
Part C – Using donor information fairly
C1. One purpose only
Contact details shown on RaktMitra.org may be used for one thing only: asking a volunteer whether they can donate blood for a specific, real patient. Before a number is shown, you must tell us who the blood is for. That note, your verified number and the time are recorded.
C2. Conduct that will get you removed
- Offering, asking for or arranging any payment, gift or favour in return for blood. Voluntary, unpaid donation is the only kind we support.
- Using a donor's number for sales, promotions, fundraising, campaigns, or anything unrelated to an immediate blood need.
- Calling or messaging a donor again after they have said no, or speaking to anyone rudely or with pressure.
- Copying, downloading or collecting profiles, building contact lists, or sharing donor details with others who do not need them for the same patient.
- Using automated software, fake numbers or tricks to get around sign-in, security checks or limits.
- Pretending to be someone else, or giving false information about a patient or hospital.
- Attempting to damage, overload or break into the website or its database.
Parrikar Petro Services may, at its own judgement, hide content, suspend or delete accounts, keep the relevant records, and inform the police or other authorities about suspected misuse.
Part D – Health and safety
D1. No promise of a match
Every donor on RaktMitra.org is a volunteer who may be travelling, unwell, recently donated, or simply unable to help on the day. Search results depend on what donors have entered themselves, distances are estimates, and we do not check medical records, blood reports or identity documents. A listing is never a guarantee that blood will be available.
D2. Always involve the hospital
Families should keep the treating hospital and its blood bank informed at every step, and follow their instructions on testing, cross-matching and timing. Donors should answer the blood centre's health questions truthfully and step back if they are not well. In an emergency, call 108 or go to the nearest hospital – do not wait on responses from this website.
D3. Saying no is always fine
Donors owe nothing to anyone who contacts them. You may refuse any request, at any time, without giving a reason.
Part E – Legal terms
E1. Responsibility for outcomes
The website is offered in good faith, on a best-effort basis and without any promise or warranty. As far as Indian law allows, neither Parrikar Petro Services nor the people who build, run or volunteer for RaktMitra.org will be responsible for any loss, injury, illness, delay or death connected with using the website, relying on its information, or any contact, meeting or donation between users. Any arrangement made between users is solely their own responsibility.
E2. If your actions cause a claim
If someone brings a claim against Parrikar Petro Services because you broke these conditions or misused the website, you agree to cover the resulting costs and losses.
E3. Content and branding
The RaktMitra.org name, logo, text and design belong to Parrikar Petro Services. Open-source software used in the website remains under its own licence. Please ask us before reusing any of our material.
E4. Your personal data
How we collect, show, store and delete information is set out in our Privacy Policy. It is part of these conditions.
E5. Updates to these conditions
We may revise these conditions as the service grows. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Using RaktMitra.org after an update means you accept the revised conditions. You can stop using the service and delete your profile from My profile at any time.
E6. Law and disputes
Indian law applies to these conditions. Any dispute will be heard only by the competent courts in [city to be confirmed].
