For donors
How do I register as a donor?
Open Register as donor, verify your mobile number with an OTP, then add your blood group, contact details and area. It takes about two minutes.
How is my mobile number verified?
We use Firebase Phone Authentication (a Google service). A one-time password is sent by SMS to your number. A quick CAPTCHA check may appear first to stop automated misuse.
Can I temporarily mark myself unavailable?
Yes. Sign in to My profile and switch Available to donate off. You stay registered but are hidden from “available only” searches. Switch it back on whenever you're ready – for example, three months after a donation.
How do I update or remove my data?
Sign in to My profile. You can edit your details directly or delete your profile instantly. You can also send a request to our moderators from the same page.
Will I receive spam calls?
We keep that to a minimum. Only OTP-verified users can search, and they must state the patient or hospital details before seeing your number. Every reveal is logged. Please report misuse through the contact page.
For seekers
How can someone find me?
Verified seekers search by blood group plus a place (city, pincode or their current location) and a radius of 5–100 km, or by state and city. If you match and are available, your masked card appears in the results.
Does the platform guarantee donor availability?
No. Donors are volunteers and may be unable to donate when contacted. Always contact your hospital blood bank in parallel. In an emergency call 108.
What does “compatible donors” mean?
Some blood groups can safely give red cells to others – for example O− can give to everyone. Turning this on widens your search to all compatible groups. The hospital will still cross-match before any transfusion.
Is there any charge?
No. RaktMitra.org is a non-profit initiative of Parrikar Petro Services. Never pay anyone for blood – please report such requests to us.
Privacy & data
What personal information is publicly shown?
Nothing is shown to the open public. Signed-in, verified users see a masked name (e.g. “Ra••• S.”), blood group, state, city, area, pincode, approximate distance, availability and last donation date. Your full name, email and exact location are never shown. Your phone number is shown only to a verified seeker after they state their purpose.
Who runs this platform and who can see my data?
The platform is run by Parrikar Petro Services as a non-profit initiative. A small team of moderators can see full profiles to handle requests and misuse. See our Privacy Policy for details.
